Biography

Edward was born on 5 Oct 1705 in Rehoboth, Massachusetts Bay Colony. He was the son of Obidiah Carpenter and Deliverance Preston.^[1] Edward was a farmer and served in the militia, achieving the rank of Ensign.^[2] He married Mary Carpenter on May 23, 1728 in Rehoboth.^[3] When Mary died, he married Dorothy Walker on December 2, 1743.^{[citation needed]} He had a fairly large family with his two wives. He died in Rehoboth on February 24, 1771 and is buried there.^[2][4]
