Edward was born on 5 Oct 1705 in Rehoboth, Massachusetts Bay Colony. He was the son of Obidiah Carpenter and Deliverance Preston.[1] Edward was a farmer and served in the militia, achieving the rank of Ensign.[2] He married Mary Carpenter on May 23, 1728 in Rehoboth.[3] When Mary died, he married Dorothy Walker on December 2, 1743.[citation needed] He had a fairly large family with his two wives. He died in Rehoboth on February 24, 1771 and is buried there.[2][4]
