Biography

Nathaniel is the son of Nathaniel Carpenter and Tamar Coles.[1][2] He was born at Cedar Swamp (Musketa Cove) about 1708.[1][2] Nathaniel was a storekeeper at North Castle, Westchester, New York.[1] His wife was Abigail Fowler, sister of Caleb Fowler, who was his brother-in-law, husband of Nathaniel’s sister, Anne Carpenter.[1]

Nathaniel Carpenter died in New Castle in late 1758. The extract of his Will, dated 17 Nov 1758 and proved 8 Dec 1758, mentions his wife Abigail, eldest son Willett, daughters Miriam and Deborah. He made his brother-in-law Caleb Fowler, and Caleb Lyon his executors.[3] The full Will shows executors as brother-in-law Caleb Fowler and Caleb Green.[4]
