Biography
Thomas Owen Carpenter was born in 1740 to John and Elizabeth Carpenter in North Carolina, He married Catherine Shamberger. They are first recorded in Cumberland Co. NC and next in Moore Co. NC. Thomas Owen and his new born child died at the hands of a British soldier while he was on leave from fighting in the Rev. War. He answered a knock at his door and the shots were fatal to both. His home was located on Bear Creek Moore Co. NC.
