Biography

Hannah and Elizabeth Carpenter, twin daughters of Benjamin Carpenter and Mercy (Coles) Carpenter, were born at Musketa Cove (Glen Cove), Nassau County, New York, 17 Aug 1708. [1] On 30 Jul 1727, Elizabeth married her cousin Robert Carpenter and, 21 Dec 1728, Hannah married Samuel Lounsbury of Rye, Westchester County, New York. Both marriages were recorded in the Marriage Register of St George's Anglican Church at Hempstead, and show that at this date the family did not affiliate with the Society of Friends. It appears the rector married them at their father's house at Red Springs but recorded it at St George’s. [2]

Registry of Marriages, Long Island Genealogy 1728 : 01 Dec 1728 --Samuel of Rye and Hannah Carpenter of Oyster Bay, married at Hempstead, St George's Anglican Church.[3] [4]

Carpenter-2869 and Carpenter-627 appear to represent the same person because: If you read -627's bio, it refers to the same marriage shown for -2869. Also, same parents (also duplicates; merges proposed)
