Biography
According to the 1880 US Census for Flagg, Ogle County, Illinois, Florence J. Carpenter was the twelve-year-old daughter of Josiah and Carrie E. Carpenter of Flagg. Like her brothers, Florence attended school. The History of Ogle County, Illinois, 1878, reports that Florence Julia's birth date was Jan. 18, 1868.
