Mary Jane Carpenter Brickey's Find a Grave page: "Wife of John Compton Brickey Jr. He married Mary's sister, (in 1846)Emily Brickey after Mary died. Mary and Emily's father was Rev. Robert Carpenter who died in 1838. There are six of the young Brickey children (by Emily) who are also buried here near Mary Jane."[1]
Rev Robert Carpenter's Find a Grave page: "Birth – unknown, Death – 1838.He was the father of Mary and Emily Carpenter who married to John Compton Brickey, Jr. His death was sudden, possible from influenza, but not certain. Robert’s wife was Mary (last name unknown) Robert died shortly after arriving in the area of Brickey’s Landing. He might possibly be buried elsewhere, but I could not find him anywhere else."[2] This appears to be a Memorial. Places of burial i& death are unknown.
