His mother widow Sarah Carpenter, of Brookfield, also left bequests to son Nathan Carpenter in her will written on September 9, 1809 and filed on August 18, 1815. [3]
He married Lucinda Ingraham/Ingram at Attleboro on October 26, 1794. She was born there on September 8, 1773, daughter of Jeremiah Ingraham and Chloe Pitcher. [1]
Nathan died at Attleboro on September 3, 1814, aged 47. [1] Buried: Newell Burying Ground, Attleboro, Bristol County, Massachusetts. [4]
On May 10, 1816, Joel Ready, Justice of the Peace, submitted a petition to the court indicating that Manning and Adah Carpenter, minors above the age of 14 years, children of Nathan Carpenter, deceased, chose as their guardian, widow Lucinda Carpenter. On the same date, widow Lucinda posted bond to be guardian to Manning, Adah and to Catherine Carpenter, age under 14 years. [5]
His widow Lydia died there on February 26, 1831, aged 57. [1]

Orville born on January 15, 1795 [1][2]; possibly died prior to May, 1816 when he is not named in guardianship papers with his siblings. [5]
