Died at 26 years old during WW2. He was on a boat in the Golfe du Saint-Laurent bringing supplies to troops. There was a storm, waves on the deck and doors freezing shut so that they were trapped. His boat sank or was lost. An eye witness testified to his boat being abandoned in the storm and that he surely died. Maurice never showed up. His fiancée, Ursule Chartier (born 1918 in Champlain), never recovered and became a nun. His mom waited for him for years thinking perhaps that he had been captured by the Germans.
He never married and had no children.
Maurice was born in 1916. He was the son of Arthur Carpentier and Rachel Morinville. He passed away in 1942.
