Biography

According to daughter Ella, when Elihu first saw Martha, around age 15, "she was the prettiest girl I ever saw". Brown eyes, beaked nose, brisk horse voice, quick thinker and very handy in emergency. Small woman.

Buried at Avilla Cemetery, Indiana. Called "Scotch grandmother" by one grandchild.
