PARENTAGE
Nancy Carr, is probably daughter of Abraham A Carr and Isabella DeFir
Assumptions for father Abraham A Carr:
1) Nancy Clack is the same age as Abraham's daughter Nancy.
2) Abraham's daughter Nancy, disappears after 1860 census. (assume married)
3) Nancy Carr and John T Clack married about 1864.
4) Nancy and John T Clack, living close to Abraham's wife & children in 1870.
5) John T Clack was living in Franklin Co. AL on the 1860 census. Therefore it is reasonable to assume his future wife was also living in Franklin Co. AL, with her parents before marriage.
6) Abraham Carr moved his family to Franklin Co. AL between 1860/70 census.
Some genealogies show Nancy Clack as the daughter of Andrew Carr:
1) Andrew Carr has a Nancy b.1836 on his 1850 census in Lauderdale Co. AL.
2) Andrew Carr has a Nancy b.1827 on his 1860 census in Lauderdale Co. AL.
3) Andrew Carr's Nancy cannot be located after 1860 census.
4) Some of Andrew's children in 1870 Lawrence Co. Arkansas , and 1900 Texas
5) Nancy and John T Clack, were in Clark Co. Arkansas by 1900 census
Problems with Andrew Carr:
1) Lauderdale Co. AL, is about 40 miles north of Franklin Co. Alabama
2) Andrew does not appear to have any connection to Franklin Co. Alabama
3) Andrew's family in Lawrence Co. AR, is about 200 miles from Clark Co. AR

The first comment (below) appears to contain the type of information found in an obituary. It appears to describe Nancy Carr (daughter of Abraham Carr), with the exception of father's name. NEED to locate obituary.
My ggm was Nancy Carr Clack, born 1836 Red Bay AL, died 1930 in Hot Springs, AR. Her father was David Carr and her mother a DeFarr. She had a sister named Caren who married Burleson. Brothers Matthew, Paul and David. All lived in TX. Don't know if this helps, but I'm continuing to research.
My great grandfather was John Thomas Clack. He was, I believe, born in Red Bay, Alabama. I don't know his birth date, but he married Nancy Carr, who was born also in Red Bay, Alabama. Nancy was born 4/3/1834 and died in Hot Springs, Arkansas on 12/24/1930. They had two daughters, Naomi Roxanna b. 3/30/1878 d. 4/28/1962. and Rebecca Catherine b.8/25/1873 d.3/23/1954. Both died in Hot Springs. I believe there was a third daughter, named Sarah, who died at 20 years of age. Sarah and Naomi both married Warren Grandison Rainwaters, Naomi being the 2nd wife. Rebecca was my grandmother; she married Franklin Sherrill.
