Research Notes

1850, 1860 and 1870 Census above list his race as White. There is an Isaac Carraway that fought in the Civil War 1861-1865 with the Union in the US Colored Troops with the 75th Regiment, US Colored Infantry, Company D as a Private. This is probably a different person.[6]

I am trying to learn the WT standard and seriously need help. On this profile Source 4: We know for a fact the family Surname is Carraway, We use a source that is transcribed by hundreds of different ppl that make hundreds of errors. When you read the Source and compare it to this profile, we give the last name as Canaway to six of the family members, and the last name Canauay to the last two KNOWN children. If we look at the Source ourselves with foreknowledge of the family surname name, shouldn't we as supposed "Genealogists" be just as qualified to Transcribe the record and correct in our records the errors others have made, that may not have the family documents, or records that we know are correct?

This profile and it's sources makes no sense to me. What led me to this record is an Email informing me that I had added a duplicate source on Carraway-3. Albeit, I don't remember making any corrections or edits to Carraway-3 as they aren't in my family tree, I accept I may have made an error on an edit.
