Biography

John was born around 1750 probably in North Carolina. John (Jonathan?) might have fought in the American Revolution, Quinn's Regiment, North Carolina.[1] He married Sarah Emery on 20 Dec 1784.[2] They had at least one son named Emery (see Probate record below). The family lived in Craven, North Carolina.[3][4] He died before March 8, 1811 when Probate was filed. Emery Carraway is listed as the agent for the sale. Since his wife's maiden name was Emery, it is quite likely that Emery is the son of John and Sarah (Emery) Carraway and that this is the correct John Carraway's Probate record. (There was another, later, Probate record for a John Carraway.)[5]
