John Carroll was born in Lancashire, England.

John was born in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, on July 11, 1899. He was the son of John Carroll and Mary Ann Barrett. He was baptized on December 7, 1899, in Liverpool, at St Francis Xavier.

John married Sarah Currie in 1920. The ceremony was performed on December 26th at St Nathaniel, Liverpool. John and Sarah appeared in the 1939 Register residing at 29 Myrtle Gardens, Liverpool, with daughter Gladys May. John's occupation "General Laborer".

John passed away in July, 1969. He was buried at Allerton Cemetery, Merseyside.
