Biography

Henry was born in April 1841 in Macon County, North Carolina. He was the son of Miles Carroll and Ruah Setzer. He died of complications from Diabetes in October 1908 in Miller County, Missouri and is buried in Madden Cemetery, Miller County.[1]

Henry served as a Private in the Union Army during the Civil War in Company H, 6th Missouri Calvary, from 10 December 1861 until 3 January 1865.[2]

Henry's parents died in 1864 and 1869 in Miller County, Missouri. On the 1870 census Henry is listed as Head of Household, a Farmer, with land valued at $500 and personal property valued at $400. Several of his siblings are living in his household:
