Marcus Carroll was in the 55th Regiment, North Carolina Infantry, Company D, CSA, Pvt. He was Jr. 2nd Lt. "Shelly Dist" 91st Reg. 22nd Brig, NC Militia (Cleveland Co) from 14 October 1861.[1][2]
Marcus Carroll was born in 1832, the son of Joseph Carroll and Elizabeth Endsley.[3][4]He married on 2 July 1857, Sarah Ann Wray (1835 - 1926).[5]They had the following children:
