DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Nathaniel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
The profile states his mother was Mary (Haines) Carroll, but lists Mary (Pease) Carrell as his mother. It appears that there is more evidence for the connection to Mary Pease, daughter of Robert Pease.
I have added sources from Salem, MA Vitals for his marriage, as well as births from most of the children. All entries show his last name spelled as Carrill. No birth or death source found.
Carroll-4350 and Carrill-2 appear to represent the same person because: One more merge to propose in this family with so many different spellings of the family name. Same siblings, same wife, same dates, same first name Nathaniel--same person. Then we can try to connect father Nathaniel Carriel-44 to the immigrant, and his wife Mary Haines-784 to the immigrant Haines or Haynes!
Carriel-36 and Carroll-4350 appear to represent the same person because: The wife, Downing-1575, is the same, and although not all are added to Carroll-4350, the children are the same. Also requested a merge of the son, Carriel-37 with Carroll-4348. Will be adding parents, Nathaniel Carroll and Mary Haines, as well as their parents. There appear to be many spellings in records of the last name: Carroll, Carriel, Caryl, Carrill, Carrell, but most sources list as Carroll.
