Dr Joseph Lion Miller quotes MSS records in his book

The descendants of Capt. Thomas Carter of "Barford", Lancaster County, Virginia, 1652-1912 Author: Joseph Lyon Miller. Publisher: Thomas, W. Va., J. L. Miller 1912. Page: 39 to 42.

This is a system used by the "Virginia, Historical Society" they are not indexed and there will be many say "Thomas Carters" but if his children are all taken from the same record, ei; Bible they will all have the same MSS number. This Thomas Carters children has the MSS number

"Cf:mss6:4c245:11"
