In 1860 he was recorded with his wife and newborn baby in the Town Of Clayton, Genesee, Michigan, United States. [2] He was a Private, Co B, 1st Michigan Engineers and Mechanics in the civil war in Michgian.
Maynard Carter passed away from Typhoid fever in April 1862 while in Nashville, Tennesee when he was 25 years old.[3]
