Carter-1588 and Carter-2011 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate--both are poorly sourced, resulting in fuzzy biographic details. It is my theory that this Joseph is the one who arrived in Fall Creek Township, Indiana in around 1831. Some of the existing genealogy work may have conflated fathers, sons, and uncles with this name.
