Biography

Sarah was born in abt. 1746. Sarah's Jenning's will was dated 13 Oct 1827. It was proved in Louisa County Court on 10 Mar 1828. Her daughter Elizabeth (Jennings) Cornelius and son John Jennings were executors of her will. ^[1] Other people named in her will are:

• Thomas Jennings- her late husband
• William Southworth - husband of her daughter Sarah/Sally Jennings.
• John James - Son, of Swimming HIll, Louisa Co.
• Charles C. Jennings - Son
• Sarah Cornelius - grandaughter
• Sally Carter Jennings- grandaughter
• Elizabeth Ann - grandaughter
• Robert Thompson Jennings- grandson

Research Notes

I can't find any evidence that Sarah's last name was Carter or that her husband, Thomas Jennings, who is mentioned in her will was born in Birmingham, England. A Thomas Mathias Jennings was born in Birmingham and his wife's name was Sarah, however all their children were born in Birmingham too which doesn't match the records for Sarah of this profile.

To avoid any confusion, there is another Sarah Carter b. 16 Jun 1744 in Farquier Co., Virginia who d. 1791 in Tennessee who also does not match this profile of Sarah.
