Cleta was born in 1922. She is the daughter of John Carter and Mabelle Dutcher. She passed away in 2004.

Funeral services were held today for Cleta C. Wantz. 82, of Lufkin, Tx. at 10:30 a.m. at Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Dr. Bob Klund officiating. Interment followed at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. The family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wantz died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at her residence. She was born in Holly, Co., to the late Mabel (Dutcher) and Frank Carter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Paul Wantz, M.D.

Mrs. Wantz is survived by her son, Alan Wood of Washington; her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Douglas Sharples of Wakonda, S.D.; stepdaughters and their husbands, Rita and Gerry Kesel of Dublin, Oh., Rose and Tom Wilcox of Columbus, Oh., Beverly and Gary Fischer of Houston, Tx., and Sandra and Bernard Reyes of Spring, Tx.; by a stepson, Gerald Wantz, II of Houston, Tx.; by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; by her sisters, Rita Reish of Granada, and Dorothy Conard and her husband, Bob of Cassville, Mo.; by a brother and sister-in-law, Leslie and Stella Carter, Sr., of Granada; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home in Lufkin, Tx. handled arrangements.
