Biography

(Penelope) Eleanor was born in 1764, in Mounmouth, New Jersey, a daughter of John Carter Sr. and Rebecca (Stuart) Carter.

On February 21, 1810, in Greene County, Tennesse, Eleanor married Hugh Cain on 21 February 1810 in Greene, Tennessee, United States.[1]

Elenaor and Hugh became the parents of as many as six children. [2]

Eleanor (Carter) Cain died in 1840, in Morristown, Grainger County, Tennessee. Hamblen County was created in 1870 from parts of Jefferson, Grainger, and Hawkins counties.
