Rosamond Carter was born circa 1766, a daughter of Lieutenant Thomas Carter, who with Henry Dickenson was a delegate from Virginia to the Constitutional Convention. Rosamond married Henry's son, James Dickenson and became early settlers in Russell County, Virginia, founded January 2, 1786. [1] Thomas Carter is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A020073. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of Rosamond Carter and her husband, James Dickenson. [2]
Rosamond (Carter) Dickenson died April 10, 1816, in Russell county, Virginia [3] and is buried in the North Church Street Cemetery, in Lebanon. [4]
