Frank's gravestone lists 1887 as the year of his birth. It is known that that is incorrect and that 1877 is the more probable birth year. Frank is buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Pleasant View, KY (Whitley County).
1900 U.S. Census[1] – Frank and Malinda (Stanfill) Carter and daughter 7 month old Ida Carter living with Malinda’s parents, Preston B and Eliza Stanfill in Pleasant View, Kentucky (Whitley County). Also living in the home are Preston and Elizabeth’s son’s General (26 yrs) and Hiram (23 yrs) and grandson Cecil Stanfill (4 yrs). Preston is a farmer and the men in the home are all farm laborers.
1910 U.S. Census[2] – Frank and Malinda (Stanfill) Carter living in Pleasant View, Kentucky (Whitley County) with 6 children: Ida (10 yrs), Synthia (8 yrs), Willie (5 yrs), Presten B (4 yrs), Wimer (3 yrs) and George (1 yrs). Frank is a farmer.
