Dale Gillis at Worldconnect suggests that this Elizabeth is not the daughter of William and Mary Goodloe, but rather another William Carter ofChrist Church, as the instant Elizabeth is not mentioned in William'swill of 1709. John Carter's will of 27 Janaury 1741 (Ref: Genealogies of Virginia Families, Vol I, Tylers Quaterly, 1981 p. 483) mentionshis brother Robert Daniel in his will.

Under the Unicorn - The Daniel Family 1998, G. Payne Daniel / gpdfla@msn.com suggests that Elizabeth and Robert may have been married as early as 1705. Another source suggests that Elizabeth and Robert were not married until 29 April 1731 (?). A source at the Orange County Historical Society in the Daniel Family File suggests that Robert and Elizabeth may have had an additional child named John possibly born as late as 1733 (?).

Christ Church records of Middlesex Co., VA., p. 167 indicates that Robert Daniel & Elizabeth Carter were married 'April ye 29th 1731', which is after Elizabeth's recorded death in the same records at page 187. 1. A fourth child - Elizabeth - is often ascribed to this family, butit appears to be in error. Parish birth records lead me to believeshewas the daughter of a different William Carter of Christ ChurchParish. Her mother's name does not appear in the christening records,either because it was missing from the records or the transcriberfoundit illegible. Significantly she is NOT mention in William's 1709will.
