Biography
Some sources indicate John Henry Carter was born in 1809 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and died 4 October 1882 in Illinois. This would make it impossible for him to have married Rebecca Stalcop before 1780. If he was the Mr. Carter married to Hannah (Stalcop) Carter, he was therefore much younger than her.

Stalcop-6 and Carter-3007 do not represent the same person because: Hannah may be daughter of John Henry Carter & Rebecca Stalcup or may have been adopted by John & Rebecca Stalcup. Hannah, also, may have been married and divorced from an unknown Carter.
