George W. Carter was born on 29 Apr 1817 in Tattnall, Georgia, United States, son of David Carter (~1785–~1825) and Rachel Cooper (~1790–~1835).[1]

George and Keziah Grooms were married on 16 Dec 1836. Keziah was born on 13 Aug 1818 in McIntosh, Liberty County, Georgia, USA. Their known children were:

George passed away on 8 Mar 1888 in Cartersville, St. Johns County, Florida, United States, aged 70. He was buried in Pellicer Creek Cemetery, Saint Augustine, St.[1]
