The State Historical Society of Missouri Place name: Crites Corner Description: On Highway 60, five miles west of Elsinore (q.v.). In 1927 Donald Crites put up a store here on his farm. He has a large building for the general store, and serves meals and rooms to tourists. The road to Elsinore meets Highway 60 here, thus making a corner on which the store is built. There are two filling stations and four homes. (Mrs. Donald Crites) Source: Pottenger, Cora Ann. "Place Names Of Five Southern Border Counties Of Missouri." M.A. thesis., University of Missouri-Columbia, 1945.

Aunt Flora was my mothers favorite aunt. Her and her husband owned a Rooming house and my mother worked for them for clothing and food. Mom always said she was a beautiful warm loving person, Huge heart and great sense of humor.
