The State Historical Society of Missouri Place name: Crites Corner Description: On Highway 60, five miles west of Elsinore (q.v.). In 1927 Donald Crites put up a store here on his farm. He has a large building for the general store, and serves meals and rooms to tourists. The road to Elsinore meets Highway 60 here, thus making a corner on which the store is built. There are two filling stations and four homes. (Mrs. Donald Crites) Source: Pottenger, Cora Ann. "Place Names Of Five Southern Border Counties Of Missouri."
