Isaac enlisted as a private in Co. K, 2d Regiment 1st Brigade, Ga. State Troops October 10, 1861. He mustered out April 1862. Appointed 4th Corporal of Co. B, 54th Regiment Ga. Inf. April 21, 1862. He is listed on the Confederate roll dated February 28, 1863, only rolls on file, and shows him present. No later record. Isaac was born was born May 17 1832 in Appling County, and died 10 Aug 1927 in Bacon County. He married Nancy Harrison. She was born 18 Aug 1851, and died 24 Apr 1935 in Bacon County. Both are buried at Friendship Methodist Cemetery. Records show him as a farmer in the Census. When Appling County was separated two times finally showing his residence in Bacon County Isaac Carter spent his entire life in the community where he was born. He was also a cattleman and lived on his farm that was about one mile from where he was born. Isaac was the son of Isaac and Elender Carter.
