Biography
Elias was born in 1844. He was the son of Elias Carter and Elisabeth Eckridge. He passed away in 1916. [1]
Enlistment: 17 years of age at time of enlistment, on Sep 1 1862 as Private. Mustering information: Enlisted into D Company, 9th Cavalry (Virginia) on Sep 1 1862 Listed as: - Wounded on Oct 11 1863 at Brandy Station, VA - Returned on May 15 1864 - On rolls on Oct 20 1864 (Present through final roll)
