Biography

Charles Carter was born c. 1760 at Lunenburg County or Spotsylvania County, Virginia, a son of George Carter, born 1731, in Virginia and his wife, Mary Craig. Charles' father was an Ensign during the American Revolutionary War and is honored by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A019924. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of Charles Carter and his wife, Elizabeth. [1]

On October 19, 1786, in St James Northam Parish, Goochland county Virginia, Charles married Bettie Pulham. [2] "Elizabeth Kendrick Pulham" was born September 3, 1759, in Richmond, Henrico county, Virginia. [3] Children of Charles and Elizabeth are:
