Biography

Nathaniel was b. 1756 to Nathaniel Carter Sarah Bennet who lived in killingworth/Goshen Connecticut. And moved to the then frontier of Warren PA. The eldest sister Jemima had just married and stayed behind, as did Nathan.

in the fall of 1763 the family was overrun in their new home by indians, Nathaniel the father was hunting nearby with the neighbor. Their camp home is said to of been taken by at least 6 Indians, they killed the mothers of both families, the infant un-named carter, and the children of the neighbor. Nathaniel returns during the massacre, and is overcome. The remainder of the children were taken captive.

Captured by Delaware with his sister Sarah and Elizabeth and fully documentef in the current day along with Elizabeth's account she documents their story in her later years and is published. This happening fall of 1763 on the edge of frontier in Warren Pennsylvani, the edge of the frontier.

The three children are taken captive Returned to Cherokees, and in spring returned for ransom at Fort Niagra.

The girls returned to relatives but Nathaniel being 6 years of age decided to return to live with Cherokee for life. Married unknown Cherokee. This life story is documented in Warren PA. During that time, And the life of David TaWa Carter Nathaniels son, who becomes chief of the Cherokee to the United States congress in the mid 1800's.
