Ann [or Anne] Carter was the daughter of Giles Carter of Turkey Island, Virginia, and Hannah Crewes.[1]
Birthdate is a guess, based on the estimated marriage date of her parents.
Ann Carter had a sister Mary Carter.[1]
Ann married James Davis. This is proved by her father's 1699 will which mentions "my Daughter Ann now the wife of James Davis."[1][2]
Her sister Mary married to Thomas Davis.[1]
No record has been identified for the death of Ann Davis.
This Ann Carter is sometimes confused with an Ann Carter from England who married a James Osborne in England. That family line is uncertain as described in the profile for James Osborne.[3] In fact, this Ann Carter, daughter of Giles Carter and Hannah Crewes, married to James Davis.

Will of Giles Carter dated 14 September 1699
Wrong Ann Carter!!! By Holly Hampton September 10, 2012
Ann, daughter of Giles Carter, was born in colonial Virginia. it is unlikely she would have married in England. Giles Carter her father immigrated to Virginia sometime prior to 1653. There is absolutely no evidence to support a marriage to James Osborne in Warwickshire, England. Her father's 1699 will does however support her marriage to James Davis. Perhaps another Anne Carter was confused with the Ann Carter, daughter of Giles Carter, of Turkey Island. This may have been an error that resulted from a mistake made in an earlier edit or merge,
