Ida (Cartwright) Richardson
My grandfather, Erastus Cartwright and his sister, Allie Cartwright, children of C.M. Cartwright always told us that Elizabeth Cartwright had C.M. Cartwright our of wedlock at age 17-18. He was raised by his grandparents, James and Sarah Cartwright as one of their own children. That is why many records, such as C.M.'s death certificate show James Cartwright as his Father. I have ran into other family members who have not heard this story. It was generally whispered in hushed tones. A mystery that may never be solved.
