Joseph C. Carver Sr., (his parents not known) married 4 September 1892 to Sarah Helen Bowmen daughter of Noah Bowman and Almedia Wilmoth. Joseph and Sarah had nine children: Eldridge Columbus, Walter Sherman, Lesley Lee, Edgar Roy, Grover Cleveland, Ethel Beatrice, Joe Billy/Baily, Paul, and Sarah Edith Carver.
