DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Henry by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Henry:
Hi Brian, based on the census data from 1850 & 1860, Henry Carver (husband of Rebecca Harrold) would have been born in 1796. I did see that his son, Samuel H (Henry??) was born in 1820. Is it possible that your source was referring to his son, Samuel H??
Hi Leslie, In looking at the 1850 census, it looks to me like his age is 32, which would put his birth year at about 1818, though the 1860 census appears to show his age at 63. I also found a death certificate that appears to be for Edwin Carver, that lists both Henry and Rebecca as parents, and show Edwin's date of birth as 1875. I haven't seen anything yet to convince me that my information is wrong, but I'll certainly change it if I do. Thank you for the information.
