John Casey[1][2] was born in 1727 in Baltimore, Maryland[3][4], the son of Abner Casey and Harriet Green.

All the Casey family moved to Roanoke Valley, VA about 1730

John married Isabella Allison, probably in VA, where they had about 8 children and 2 more in SC.

The Casey clan moved on to Spartanburg Co, SC about the 1760s.

John moved to South Carolina circa 1775 (or before). He settled on the Enoree River, Newberry County.

John served in the Revolutionary War. (no details of his service have been found yet)

John died in 1816 (or after 1816) in Spartanburg, Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA[5][6]

He is the Gg-Grandfather of Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain).
