Margaret (Casey) Lampton was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

Margaret Peggy (Casey) Lampton was born on 31 Mar 1783 in Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky, United States. She was the daughter of Colonel William Casey (1754 - 1816) and Jane (Montgomery) Casey (~1761 - 1844).

Margaret married Benjamin Lampton (1770 - 1837) on 17 Mar 1801 in Green, Kentucky, United States. [1] Colonel Benjamin Lampon was born on 24 May 1770.

Their children were:

  1. Jane (Lampton) Clemens (1803 - 1890)
  2. Patsy (Lampton) Quarles (1805 - )
  3. Martha Ann (Lampton) Quarles (1807 - 1850).

Their daughter Jane Lampston married John Marshall Clemens who was born on 11 Aug 1798 and died on 24 Mar 1847. John and Jane were the parents of Samuel Langhorn Clemens (better known as Mark Twain), was born on 30 Nov 1835 and died on 21 Apr 1910. Samuel Clemens was not yet born when his Great-Grandfather, William Casey died. Samuel married Olivia Langdon in 1870 and she was Jan 1845

Margaret Lampton died on 6 Oct 1818 in Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky, United States. and was buried in Caseys Station Cemetery, Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky, United States.[2]
