Biography

Patrick Cassidy was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Patrick Cassidy [1] born 16/3/1843 and baptised 16/12/1843 in St. Mary's Cathedral. Father was listed as Thomas Cassidy and mother as Mary Sweeny. Their address was Smithfield. The sponsor was Bridget Clancy and the Priest was J. McEncroe, Roman Catholic. They must have gone to St. Mary's in Sydney for the baptism.

Patrick married Myra Lewry in 1869 at Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia[2] The couple had at least 7 children.

Patrick died on 16 Feb 1879 at Glen Innes, New South Wales, Australia [3] [4]

Maitland Mercury and Hunter River General Advertiser (NSW : 1843 - 1893), Thursday 27 February 1879, page 7. [5] GLEN INNES. It is with extreme regret I have to record the death of Mr, Patrick Cassidy, which sad event took place on Sunday morning last. The deceased was quite a young man, and suffered a very short time from disease of the heart. He was married, and leaves a sorrowing widow and seven young children. Much sympathy is expressed for the bereaved family. Glen Innes, 20th Feb. 1879.
