Biography

Birth

María was born about 1705 in Santa Cruz de la Cañada, Nuevo México, Nueva España.

Parents

She is the daughter of Francisco Afán de Rivera and María de los Reyes de Leyva y Mendoza.[1] Her parents never married, making her a "natural" child.[2] Unlike her siblings, her father did not acknowledge her in his will.[2]

Marriage

She married Francisco Montes Vigil II in about 1720.

Death

María Antonia died in 1743.[3]
