Albert Castillo, 67, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 13, 1943 to Pablo and Rafaelita (Lopez) Castillo in Socorro.
Albert was a lifelong resident of Socorro. He enjoyed iron welding art. He loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends. Albert was a good cook in which he loved to share with all his neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Joe Castillo, Godson, Colonel Joe Castillo, nephew, Paulie Castillo, niece, Lynn Castillo, sister in law, Irene Castillo, and his grandson, James Albert Gallegos. Albert is survived by his loving wife, Stella (Lucero) Castillo; his devoted daughters, Denise (Pat) Contreras, Amanda (James III) Gallegos, Bernice (Joey) Anaya, Janice (Daniel) Jaramillo, and Ann Marie (Winston) Murphy; 17 loving grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; his brothers, Roger (Pat) Castillo, Napaleon Castillo, and Paul Lee (Barbara) Castillo; his sisters, Mary Barber, Eloisa Silva, Antonia Nordquist and Lugie (Steve) Shorter; and a special angel, Horacio Martinez.
A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at 7 p.m. at the Family Residence. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at 10 a.m. at San Miguel
Catholic Church. Interment will take place in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery following the service.
