Lyme is a town in New London County, Connecticut.

Lyme was part of the Saybrook Colony that was first settled in 1636. The area that became Lyme was the portion of Saybrook east of the Connecticut River. It was set off from Saybrook in 1665 and named after Lyme Regis in England.

The now-separate towns of East Lyme and Old Lyme were originally part of the town of Lyme, and were split off in 1839 and 1854-55, respectively.
