North Carolina Historical and genealogical Register, Vol 1 [4] reflects Robert, son of Thomas and Elizabeth received land from his parents 1790. [5] He was listed on multiple tax lists of Orange Co., Caswell Dist. [6] He is mentioned in North Carolina [7] As above mentioned Robert's Revolutionary War pension paid for several years.
Robert enlisted in Orange County in North Carolina in the Company commanded by Captain John Griffith of the fourth Battalion of the Continental Battalions of North Carolina (4th NC Regiment, Continental Line). He continued to serve in the said Corps until 30th day of August 1779 when he was discharged from service in Hillsboro in North Carolina by Lieutenant Colonel Archibald Lytle having served in said Corps twelve months or thereabouts, & exceeding the term of nine months. He was in the Battles of Stono Ferry & Brier Creek, aside some other skirmishes.[8]
