Biography

George Catesby of Ashby St. Ledgers, Northamptonshire, was the son of William Catesby (who was beheaded after the defeat of Richard III at Bosworth in 1485). The Catesby family held land in Hodnell, Warwickshire, attached to the manor of Radbourne.

"[T]he manor [of Waresley, Hartlebury] passed into Catesby family through the marriage of Philippa daughter of William de Bishopsdon with Sir William Catesby."
