In the Bio section it says Richard and Margaret had 12 children together, 8 sons and 5 daughters. 8+5=13. The list in the bio shows 8 sons and 4 daughters, however when you compare the list with the children at the top of the profile which has 10 children with Margaret you will find that:

1. Augustine is in both places but is a daughter in the top and a son in the list. 2. The list has Clement, Francis and Elizabeth, who are not listed at the top. These 3 plus the 10 shown equals 13.

These are two of my 13th GGP and I'm not Pre-1500 certified so - can someone please resolve the gender of Augustine (since it's known he was a monk; I'm assuming that male is the correct gender) AND either correct the number of children to 13 OR eliminate the erroneous child from the list.

Thank You

Just to add, there is a Cave Family History Society, run by the Cave family with all the ancestral records, the researcher is Linda Hotchkiss (research@ cavefhs.com

apparently Richard was, to quote the record, a friendly intimate of Cromwell, HenryV111's advisor who arranged his appointment to high sheriff of Norrhampton in 1530, and Ricbard's son to a position.

Richard's middle name was Hambrett.

The only time I have seen the name "Roger" appear was in a "Heralds Visitations of a county" book. I believe the compiler or typesetter had inserted the name Roger instead of Richard [those sources are prone to error] I have not found any historical evidence for its usage and would think it is most likley spurious.

Can I ask ? where does the "Roger" come from in Richard Caves name?

Sorry Nigel, I have no idea! It was already on the profile when I adopted it many years ago.

Hello Nigel, thanks for the info - I've updated the bio to reflect your comment. Could you please add a source to Margarets profile. Thanks!
The relationship finder notes - This makes Richard Hellstrom (Hellstrom-259) the 15th great grandfather of Richard Cave ( Cave-10). I'm pretty confident up to Elizabeth Lane.

Cave-10 and Cave-68 appear to represent the same person because: Looks to be a match, father of same son, although the birth dates don't match.
