Biography
Martha was born 24th February 1545/6, she was the daughter and co-heir of Anthony Cave of Chicheley in Buckinghamshire and his wife Elizabeth Lovett.[1]
Martha married 'John Newdegat' at St Mary the Virgin in Harefield Middlesex on 7th December 1563. [2]
Martha and John had five children [3]:
- Elizabeth baptised at Harefield on 14th February 1568/9 [4]
- John born at Harefield on 5th March 1570/1; baptised there 18th March 1570/1 [5]
- Grizill baptised at Harefield on 1st July 1572 [6]
- Francis born at Harefield on 10th July 1573; baptised there 19th July 1573 [7]
- Mary baptised at Harefield on 10th October 1574 [8]
Martha died in November 1575 and was buried at St Mary the Virgin in Harefield on 22nd November 1575 - 'Martha Newdegate ye wife of John'.[9]
