Biography

Joseph Chadwick was born about 1807 in Lyme, New London, Connecticut.[1]. He was the son of Guy Chadwick and Mehitable Mather Chadwick.[2]

He married Parthenia Lord on March 20, 1833.[3]

In the 1850 US Census he is recorded as living in Lyme with his wife Perthina[sic] and five children: Caroline, 16; Charles, 14; William, 12; Albert, 8; and Robert, 6.[4]

In 1860 Joseph apparently is living with the family of his daughter Caroline and her husband William Perkins along with their three children and Joseph's sons William, John (probably previously Albert), and Robert. It apperas that Parthenia has died.[5]

In 1870 he shows up as a farm laborer in the household of a Joseph D. Huntley.[6]

Joseph died on April 17, 1879 and is buried in East Lyme.[7]
