Biography

Eunice Chadwick was born on July 17, 1822 in Boscawen, Merrimack, New Hampshire. Her parents were Joseph Chadwick and Eunice Bless Chadwick.^[1]

She married George S. Royce on April 29, 1847 in Boscawen.^[2]

She is shown in the 1860 US Census living in Boscawen with husband George and six children: George H., 12; Daniel, 9; Mary, 8; Edward, 6; Justin, 3; and Albert, 0.^[3]

In 1870 she has two more children: Arthur, 8; and Charles, 5.^[4]

In 1880, only George, and children Mary(now Ella) and Arthur remain.^[5]

In 1900 Eunice, 78, is widowed and living in Boston with her daughter Mary, 48.^[6]

Eunice died on March 6, 1909 in Boston, Massachusetts.^[7]

Research Notes

Eunice's birth record states that her mother's name was Judith as in Judith Morrill Chadwick, but Judith had died in March, 1821. Joseph Chadwick married Eunice Bless on August 16, 1821, and Eunice was born on July 17, 1822. Eunice Bless Chadwick must have been her mother and not Judith.
