Biography

Jonathan Chadwick was born on April 4, 1691 in Watertown, Middlesex. Massachusetts. He was the son of Thomas Chadwick and Sarah Wolcott Chadwick.^[1]

According to Boyd and McCracken:

He was obviously not very provident, for he was warned out of Dorchester in 1726... "Aug. 31 Solomon Hewes notified Selectmen that Jonathan Chadock of Lyme 'is come into Mr. Bats his house with his family a wife and four small children they have not so much as a bed to ly or pot or kettle or anything.' They belong to Dorchester. That house was not set of[f] to Wrentham"...
"Oct. 25 Constable was ordered to carry Jonathan Chadock and his family out of the town and deliver them to the Constable of the next town in the way toward the town whence they Properly belong."^[2]

Boyd and McCracken list four children (including an infant who died in 1727) born between 1721 and 1738 by his wife Lucy Unknown Chadwick.^[2]

His death date and place are unknown.
