In the 1891 Census for England he listed as Thomas Chadwick, aged 2, is listed in the household of his father, Thomas Chadwick. the family are recorded as residing in Smith Street, Manchester, Lancashire, England.[3]In the household were; Thomas Chadwick, aged 32; Margaret Chadwick his mother, aged 29; James Chadwick, listed as a son aged 4 months, also listed was Mary Ellen Brierley, sister in law, aged 20.
In the 1901 Census for England he, and his family are recorded at Owen Street, Hulme, Manchester, Lancashire, England.[4]With him on the census were; his father Thomas, aged 42; his mother Margaret Chadwick, aged 39; James, their son aged 10; he aged 12; Amelia, daughter aged 8; Frederick, son aged 4, and Frank, son aged 2.
